Rebel Alliance Recordings are as pleased as punch to be working with the Skints. The Skints were formed in 2005, then London teenagers knee-deep in a music scene ruled by ska-punk kings Capdown and King Prawn but it wasn’t long before they had reached way back to the likes of Augustus Pablo and Max Romeo for their altogether more rootsy inspiration. Having spent the last year gigging hard and writing their debut album, the band have managed - under their own steam - to rack up an impressive set of both headline and support shows across the UK, including tours with The King Blues, The Slackers, The Aggrolites and many others.
July will see The Skints hit up the UK as special guests to Random Hand. August sees the UK assault continue on plus a short trip out to the Czech Republic to play at this year’s Mighty Sounds Festival. September will be spent locked down in the rehearsal room preparing a new set to coincide with the release of the first single from ‘Live, Breathe, Build, Believe’. In October, the band supports the single by touring as special guests to label-mates Sonic Boom Six across the UK for three weeks. The tour takes in Academy venues in Oxford, Sheffield, Birmingham, Newcastle and Manchester with tour highlights (including the Cockpit in Leeds and Portsmouth’s Wedgewood Rooms) that could well give London’s Garage show on October 15th a serious run for the money.
